This is a gorgeous platter designed by Leon Sazerat and produced by Blondeau Limoges Porcelains in France during the late 1800's. The platter has an intricately curved shape and is decorated with deep blue and pale pink florals. Its handles are open and enhanced with gold. The edges have embossed swirls. It measures 18 1/2" X 9".
The platter is in excellent used condition with no crazing and very little utensil marking. Its only flaw is a small chip at one edge. (See photos) It does not detract from the outstanding beauty of the piece. Interestingly, the building in which this platter was made was eventually sold to T. Haviland in 1906. |
